Miscellaneous Parties

Just this month we had a very special SURPRISE 80th birthday party for my mother-in-law.  This lady had lost her first husband to the second world war. She had re-married only to loose him 25 years later.  Needless to say she has had a lot of friends and acquaintances, plus her own family still has 6 living children.  Through the years she has lost contact with a lot of those earlier friends.  The second husband has been gone for over 25 years, and his family is out of state.  We planned a wonderful party with an appearance of several mystery guests.  We left the guest of honor come into the party not knowing that we hid away several of these unknown guests.  The guest of honor was put on a chair facing away from the room with the mystery guests hidden.  One at a time we left the mystery guests come up behind the guest of honor, telling a story or saying something to give the guest of honor a clue as to who this person was.  My mother-in-law was so surprised to see all of these, and the many other people that attended this party.  We had guests from 7 states.  Just a few months ago my mother-in-law lost two of her sisters, so the rest of her brothers and sister were so glad to have something happy to help celebrate.
