I'm planning my husbands 30th surprise party.  I rented a local golf course clubhouse room.  I have the whole hall and the patio outiside. I have long tables for the food, alchohol, and the dessert tables that I'm decorating in lime green table covers and with grass skirts (orientaltrading.com) with flowers around the top. The other tables are round and will have different colors on them (red, orange, turquiose blue, yellow). For the centerpieces I bought medium sized glass bowls (almost look like fish bowls) I put fake orchid flower heads in them along with gems that have the same colors. I'm filling them with water and putting a white floating candle in them.  I'm going to surround them with tiny dried starfish from orientaltrading.com. For the food I'm making food that he loved when he was little.  My friend is going to make a cake for me, she just finished taking cake decorating classes.  I'm thinking about having one in the shape of a pig.  I'm having people wear their own lei's in and they will be entered to win a prize.  I'm going to make a couple of gift baskets for that.  A family friend is also making a slideshow for me. I put my husbands pictures in there from when he was little to now and it will have the song the next 30 years" by Tim McGraw on them.  Wish me luck. I'm still working out details."
