I am in the works of planning my husband's 60th surprise birthday party. We will have a "This is your Life" segment at the beginning of the party and I will give clues as to who this
person may be, the birthday boy will have to guess, he hasn't seen some of these people in years, which should be very emotional for him. We will also have a comedy "ROAST",
the grandkids will each take turns reading a portion of a funny poem I wrote called "Grandpa's Stages of Life".
His daughter and I will then continue on with the comedy roast. He has always been an avid ELVIS fan so I am hiring an Elvis impersonator for the party. I also ordered quite a few "oldies" CD's for the event. I put together "multiple choice" answer games, one has to do with events from the year of his birth, 1946 and the other is an Elvis trivia game. I am having a "PIN THE Toupee" on the "OLD GEEZER" game. Later in the evening, I hired a "TOPLESS STRIPPER" to try to embarass the birthday boy. (Her arrival will be annouced so as not to offend anyone and to ensure no children are present). I ordered an old buzzard pinata (for decoration only) as well as a vinyl 3' blow up OLD GEEZER doll. I put together quite a few black posters with white writing of various versus i.e. "My Happy Hour is now a Nap" etc. as well as 8-1/2 X 11 sheets of paper with various funny versus to hang around the yard, on windows, doors, etc. We will have a catered bar-b-que dinner between events of the day. This is a backyard event (I hope the weather is good) so I ordered white tables with umbrellas. I will use black table covers and I have put together news clippings and car pictures of that year which I will decorate the tables with. Of course, in staying with the theme I ordered black plates, silverware, cups and found the greatest black napkins that say "I SEE OLD PEOPLE". I'm open to other suggestions if any of your readers would like to share their party ideas. Please feel free to contact me. Wish me luck.
